Hello Parents! Whether you are an expectant parent or already have a baby, I am excited to guide you in learning how to massage your precious little one. Infant massage combines reflexology, Swedish massage, Indian massage, and Yoga to help calm and relax your beautiful baby.
Why Take a Class ?
My courses are taught over 5 weeks to give both the parent and baby time to learn and become comfortable with the massage. Each week parents learn strokes for a new part of the body while reviewing strokes from previous classes. So new strokes are learned and previous information is reinforced. I teach a little at a time to ensure that you are confident with every aspect. The strokes and styles of baby massage are easier to grasp when demonstrated by an experienced instructor. Pressure, rate, rhythm, the length of the massage, respect, bonding, why baby cries, baby’s body language, position of the baby, relaxation and parent empowerment are some of the skills and topics that will be discussed.
I am a Certified Educator of Infant Massage. My training is through Infant Massage USA which is the national chapter of International Association of Infant Massage. This type of infant massage was developed by Vimala McClure from Boulder, Colorado. This association of infant massage is now in 52 countries around the would and is quickly spreading. The Program, which has been in existance for 30 years, is designed to allow the educator to guide the parents in learning how to recognize their baby's unique needs and desires through the art of infant massage. Infant Massage USA recognizes that parents know their baby better than any educator could and strives to promote that bond. I can guide you and your baby through soothing massage strokes to help you nurture the incredible bond growing between the two of you.
